September's "O Mensal" is a little late, but will be out in a few weeks. Most of the information below was mentioned in our last edition, but that was a couple of months agos, so we're sending a reminder about our next few events. I'd also like to remind everyone that a listing of our events as well as past issues of the mensal are available on our website.

We invite you to join us for a dinner & dance on Saturday, September 17th at 6 pm to celebrate the success of our NPCC Scholarship, where we will be honouring this year's recipient Mikayla Pereira, each of our sponsors and ACAPO for initiating this program. We will be serving a roast beef dinner and Jovem Imperio will be performing.

Tickets prices are $35 for adults, $40 for non-member adults, $15 for youths (12-17), $10 for children (7-11) and free for children 6 and under.

The 2011 NPCC Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, September 18th at Newcastle Golf and Country Club. Registration will start at 9:30am with lunch once again supplied courtesy of Portugal Groceries and Dinner to follow at NPCC.

The cost is $100 per golfer, $75 for golfers under 17 and $15 for those who wish to only attend the dinner. Golf price includes Golf, Cart, Sandwiches, Prizes and Dinner.

As the cold months approach, we have decided it would be a nice treat to plan a trip with the youth group and their families to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls. Sandra Dantas has made a few calls and arranged for a group rate for our members. The scheduled date Saturday November 26 and Sunday November 27th (one night and two full days at the water park) and the cost for a family of four is $189.99 - the Normal family rate is $289.99.

In order to take advantage of this deal, we must book in the next few days. Anyone interested in joining us is asked to contact Sandra Dantas asap - everyone is welcome!

The next youth dance will be Friday, September 23rd at 7pm, any member 14 and under is invited to this free event. We are discussing allowing guests at this event, but havent made a desision yet, we will email full details next week.

Bruno has passed on the dance practice schedule for the next three months: September 25th, October 2nd, 16th, 23rd, 30th, November 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th. Practice starts at 6:00pm sharp for everyone. If there is any changes there will be an email sent out.

The NPCC will be broadcasting the 2011/2012 Portuguese Liga games, as well as any Portuguese UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup and UEFA EURO 2012 games. This year all games will be broadcast via a new high quality feed from NexTV. - anyone who is interested, they also offer some very good Portuguese language packages for home.
